Tango Postcard
Dublin Core
Title
Tango Postcard
Subject
An American postcard about Tango
Description
This postcard shows a couple dancing the Tango, with the words:
Come let's make a date
To Tango quite late,
And when we get tired
We'll just Hesitate."
This is making a reference to the steps in American Tango, not found in International Tango at this time, where there is a slight hesitation in some steps.
To avoid confusion, it should be noted that although there was a piano and orchestrated piece of music called hesitation tango, as part of a composition called souvernirs by Samuel Barber, this was not composed until 1953.
